Strategy Expands Bitcoin Sales Plan Amid Q2 Loss
Strategy Inc., the company behind Michael Saylor's MSTR, has expanded its Bitcoin sales plan after reporting an $8.22 billion net loss in Q2. The proposed framework could release up to $5 billion for various capital programs, including reserve funding, annual dividend and interest costs, and security repurchase programs.
The company holds 843,775 BTC at an average cost of $75,476, leaving the treasury below its aggregate purchase cost at current prices. Management has not committed to selling the full amount, and actual sales could stay below the proposed ceiling.
The strategy prioritizes STRC price support, cash reserves, and debt flexibility over directing new capital raises toward Bitcoin. The company recently sold 3,588 BTC, reducing holdings from 847,363 BTC to 843,775 BTC, and received approximately $216 million from the transactions.
