Strategy Hits Six-Year Mark in Bitcoin Accumulation
Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, has marked six years since its first Bitcoin purchase. On August 11, 2020, it bought 21,454 BTC for approximately $250 million, declaring Bitcoin its primary treasury reserve.
The company now holds around 840,447 BTC, with the initial stake growing nearly 12 times over. This represents about 4% of Bitcoin's hard-capped 21 million supply.
Strategy has relied heavily on equity issuance and preferred stock offerings to fund its accumulation, essentially turning its stock into a Bitcoin acquisition vehicle.
