Strategy Inc. Backs CLARITY Act for US Crypto Regulatory Framework
Strategy Inc., the world's largest corporate bitcoin holder, and its executive chairman Michael Saylor have declared support for the CLARITY Act, a bipartisan framework aimed at establishing clear rules for digital asset markets in the US.
The endorsement comes as Senate lawmakers face mounting pressure to advance comprehensive cryptocurrency regulations. The CLARITY Act proposes dividing crypto oversight between the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), while establishing registration routes for exchanges, brokers, dealers, and custodians.
Strategy's support connects the legislation with institutional adoption, market growth, and clearer protections for digital asset ownership. Saylor wrote: 'I support advancing the CLARITY Act through bipartisan work to establish clear, durable rules, protect property rights, promote innovation, and strengthen American capital markets.' He believes that bitcoin will succeed with or without legislation but emphasizes the need for clarity on digital assets.
The company's support reflects growing institutional interest in establishing a durable regulatory framework for digital assets. The Senate Banking Committee approved the measure by a 15-9 vote on May 14, and supporters have intensified pressure on Congress to advance digital asset market structure legislation.
