Strategy Inc. Invests in Children's Savings with Trump Account Pledge
Strategy Inc., the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, is taking a different approach to investing. The company has announced that it will contribute to 'Trump Accounts,' tax-deferred savings accounts for children under 18 that invest in low-fee U.S. index funds, on behalf of its U.S. employees' kids. Every eligible child will receive $250 added to their account each year, regardless of when they were born.
For children born on or after January 1, 2025, Strategy will also add a one-time $1,000 contribution, matching the seed amount the U.S. Treasury already deposits for newborns enrolled in the program. This initiative is part of an effort to build long-term financial security for families.
Phong Le, Strategy's President and CEO, stated that the simplicity of the accounts was a reason the company got involved. The company has not yet opened enrollment, as it waits for the U.S. Treasury to finalize its guidance and establish the infrastructure for employer contributions.
