Strategy Inc Loses $8.2B on Paper-Based Bitcoin Losses
Michael Saylor's Strategy Inc posted a massive net loss of $8.22 billion for the second quarter of 2026 due to paper-based losses on its Bitcoin holdings.
The company, which controls over 4% of Bitcoin's total maximum supply with 843,775 BTC, saw its assets decline in value as the price of Bitcoin fell from $68,000 to $58,600 over the three-month period.
This resulted in an unrealized loss exceeding $10 billion, but Saylor remained optimistic, hinting that it is far too early to write off Strategy's strategy.
