Strategy Inc. Sells Off Bitcoin Holdings in Capital Structure Overhaul
Strategy Inc., led by Michael Saylor, is shifting its focus from accumulating Bitcoin to strengthening its capital structure. The company has completed a $105 million sale of Bitcoin and offloaded three million shares worth $291 million.
The funds raised were used to repurchase $81 million worth of STRC preferred shares, which are trading at a discount. This move aims to bolster Strategy Inc.'s reserve pool, which now stands at $4 billion. Some of the proceeds also went toward increasing its dollar-based reserve pool.
Strategy Inc.'s pivot is part of an overhaul aimed at shoring up its capital structure. The company's previous strategy of buying and holding Bitcoin has given way to a focus on raising funds through token sales and share offerings.
