Strategy Keeps STRC Dividend Steady at 12 Percent Amid Continued Price Lows
Strategy, an American technology company known for its Bitcoin holdings, has decided to maintain the dividend on its variable rate preferred stock, STRC, at 12 percent for August.
This decision comes despite the shares continuing to trade below their target par value of $100. In June, Strategy had increased the payout to 12 percent, which took effect for semi-monthly payouts starting in July.
Holders of the high-yielding perpetual preferred stock had anticipated a potential 50-basis-point increase, given Strategy's past practice of raising payouts when STRC spent extended periods trading below its $100 stated par value. However, the company holds no legal obligation to implement monthly rate hikes.
Strategy Chief Executive Officer Phong Le stated that the firm's corporate objective remains for STRC to trade between $99 and $100 over time.
