Strategy Leads Bitcoin Quantum Defense with New Security Consortium
Strategy, a company focused on Bitcoin (BTC), has taken two significant steps to enhance its financial reporting and protect the Bitcoin network against future technological threats.
The first initiative is an update to the modified Net Asset Value (mNAV) methodology. This change aims to provide investors with a clearer picture of Strategy's financial position, taking into account its evolving capital structure, treasury strategy, and overall enterprise value.
The revised mNAV approach acknowledges that Strategy is no longer viewed solely as a Bitcoin holder but also as an operating business with unique financing strategies and expanding revenue opportunities. This update may improve the consistency of valuation comparisons over time and reduce confusion surrounding premium or discount calculations.
The second initiative is the launch of the Bitcoin Security Consortium, which brings together experts to research and develop defenses against potential quantum computing threats. While practical quantum computers capable of breaking Bitcoin's cryptographic security do not yet exist, researchers believe preparing early is essential to strengthen Bitcoin's resilience through coordinated standards development.
