Strategy Passes on New Bitcoin Buys as Strive Continues Accumulation
Strategy, a prominent Bitcoin treasury company, has made an unusual move by buying zero BTC between August 31 and September 7. Instead of investing in Bitcoin, Strategy repurchased STRC preferred stock to the tune of $176.3 million. This is on top of another $151.8 million spent on STRC shares the previous week.
Strategy's treasury model has shifted from its original one-way accumulation strategy. The company previously sold 6,916 BTC during the summer before returning to the market with a recent purchase. Its priority now lies in managing its complex securities structure built around its enormous existing Bitcoin treasury.
In contrast, Strive continued its accumulation of BTC, adding $109 million worth of the cryptocurrency at an average price of $79,281. This purchase lifted Strive's treasury from 23,156 BTC to 24,531 BTC. The difference in priorities between the two companies highlights a notable divergence in their allocation of capital.
