Strategy Pauses Bitcoin Purchases Amid Fresh $2 Billion Capital Influx
Strategy, a company that raised more than $2 billion through its latest share sales, has paused Bitcoin purchases despite the influx of fresh capital. The firm allocated part of the proceeds to a newly established USD Cash pool, which can be used for various purposes including acquiring Bitcoin.
In a Form 8-K filing with the SEC, Strategy announced 'USD Cash,' a new component of its Digital Credit Capital Framework designed to provide flexible dollar liquidity for general Bitcoin Treasury Company purposes. The firm currently holds $1.59 billion in USD Cash and $5.10 billion in its existing USD Reserve, bringing its combined dollar liquidity to approximately $6.69 billion.
Strategy used the majority of the proceeds from its share sales to repurchase shares, add to its USD Reserve, and allocate funds to USD Cash. Despite this, it made no Bitcoin purchases or sales during the week, leaving its holdings unchanged at 840,447 BTC.
