Strategy Pauses Bitcoin Purchases, Long-Term Commitment Remains Unchanged
Strategy has paused its Bitcoin (BTC) purchases for a short period but remains committed to its long-term accumulation strategy, according to an analysis by CryptoQuant. The company did not buy any additional BTC between July 20 and July 26, but it didn't sell any of its existing holdings either. Its position remained unchanged at 843,775 BTC.
During this period, Strategy raised funds by selling 5.43 million MSTR shares for about $544.5 million and repurchasing $25 million of STRC preferred stock. This move increased its cash position to $3.75 billion, giving it the capacity to make additional Bitcoin purchases in the future.
According to XWIN Japan, a CryptoQuant contributor, this pause is 'a tactical lull, not a change in Strategy's long-term Bitcoin strategy.' The analysis advises investors to pay less attention to short-term fluctuations and focus on whether Strategy continues its approach of accumulating BTC as a long-term treasury asset.
