Strategy Purchases Additional 4,603 Bitcoins for $370 Million
Strategy, a digital asset treasury firm and parent company of MicroStrategy (NASDAQ:MSTR), has acquired more Bitcoin. In a recent post on X, Chairman Michael Saylor revealed that Strategy has purchased 4,603 BTC for $370 million. This purchase brings the company's total holdings to 845,050 BTC.
The acquisition is notable because it marks the first Bitcoin purchase in around ten weeks. During this time, Strategy sold a significant amount of its Bitcoin holdings, totaling around 6,948 BTC, which were mainly used for preferred-stock dividends and share buybacks.
Strategy's average purchase price for the recent purchases was $80,318 per Bitcoin, while the current market price is approximately $78,242. The company's share price has also moved higher in the past few weeks, with its 52-week low around $81 and high of approximately $365. The digital asset treasury firm's share price is directly tied to Bitcoin.
Strategy's recent financials show that cash has increased by $29 million, while share repurchases have increased by $152 million.
