Strategy Raises $15 Billion for Bitcoin Using AI-Powered Preferred Stock
Michael Saylor's company, Strategy, used artificial intelligence to develop preferred stock instruments that helped raise $15 billion for Bitcoin purchases. The strategy, which involved using ChatGPT from OpenAI, was designed to create hybrid credit products that would allow Strategy to expand its BTC holdings.
The preferred-stock suite, which began with the AI-influenced design of STRK and expanded through related products such as STRC, enabled Strategy to raise roughly $15 billion in capital. This amount was directed primarily toward Bitcoin acquisitions, with Strategy holding 840,447 BTC worth approximately $63.36 billion at an average price of $75,385 per bitcoin.
Strategy's near-term objective is to restore and maintain STRC near its stated par value of $99-$100. The company also aims to increase its USD reserve through the sale of MSTR shares. According to Saylor, as long as Bitcoin's long-term appreciation rate exceeds the preferred funding cost, the structure will allow for 'perpetual net accumulation.'
