Strategy Raises $15 Billion with AI-Designed Financing Tools
Strategy, founded by Michael Saylor, is one of the world's largest corporate holders of Bitcoin. As it approached a limit on traditional financing methods, Saylor turned to artificial intelligence (AI) for help.
In an interview, Saylor explained how AI designed new preferred stock tools that helped raise $15 billion to support the company's aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy. By early 2025, Strategy had already accumulated around $30 billion worth of Bitcoin, but its usual funding options were running out.
The company used a combination of traditional finance and its Bitcoin strategy to design two new products: STRK and STRC. STRK is a Bitcoin-backed convertible preferred stock that raised over $10.5 billion through an initial public offering (IPO) and subsequent sales, while STRC is a short-term preferred stock designed to stay close to its $100 value.
The AI-designed financing tools helped Strategy raise another $4 billion, bringing the total to around $15 billion. This influx of capital enabled the company to continue buying Bitcoin, with its current holdings totaling 842,138 BTC, making it the largest corporate holder of the asset.
