Strategy Raises $15B for Bitcoin Using ChatGPT-Driven Preferred Stock Instrument
Michael Saylor, executive chairman and co-founder of Strategy, revealed how the company used artificial intelligence to develop a new preferred stock instrument that helped raise $15 billion for Bitcoin purchases.
The strategy involved using ChatGPT from OpenAI as a brainstorming and design tool to create a hybrid credit product. The preferred-stock suite, starting with the AI-influenced design of STRK, enabled Strategy to raise approximately $15 billion in capital that was directed primarily toward Bitcoin acquisitions.
Saylor said the structure allows for 'perpetual net accumulation' as long as Bitcoin's long-term appreciation rate exceeds the preferred funding cost. The company currently holds 840,447 BTC, which costs around $63.36 billion at an average price of $75,385 per bitcoin.
