Strategy Raises $2B Selling MSTR Stock, Boosts 'USD Cash' Pot
Strategy, a Bitcoin treasury company, has raised $2.01 billion by selling MSTR stock over two weeks. The funds were largely put into a new 'USD Cash' pot, which can be used for various purposes including buying Bitcoin.
The USD Cash pool, established on August 23, stands at $1.59 billion and is intended to allow Strategy's management to respond quickly to market conditions. In contrast, the existing USD Reserve, valued at $5.10 billion, has restrictions on its use, primarily for covering preferred dividends and interest on debt.
Strategy's Bitcoin holdings remain unchanged at 840,447 BTC, purchased at an average price of $75,385. The company has not bought or sold any Bitcoin since June and July saw the firm's position underwater due to the cryptocurrency's lower prices.
