Strategy Reboots Bitcoin Buying with $369M Purchase
After a 10-week hiatus from buying Bitcoin, Strategy has resumed its accumulation strategy by acquiring 4,603 BTC at an average price of $80,318 per coin. The purchase comes after Michael Saylor's 'We're ₿ack' tweet sparked speculation that the company would re-enter the market.
The acquisition is valued at $369.7 million and has increased Strategy's Bitcoin holdings to 845,050 BTC, worth approximately $63.73 billion at an average cost of $75,412 per coin. The company's cash reserves remain a focus, standing at $5.10 billion with $1.61 billion in cash.
Strategy financed the purchase from sales of 4.53 million Class A shares, generating net proceeds of $602.8 million. The funds were distributed among various areas, including repurchasing preferred shares and dividends.
