Strategy Resumes Bitcoin Buying as Markets Remain on Edge Over Rate Hikes and US-Iran Tensions
Bitcoin maintained its recent peaks on Tuesday despite some cautionary signs in the market. Strategy Inc, the world's largest corporate Bitcoin holder, resumed its purchases of the cryptocurrency after a two-month hiatus. The company bought 4,603 coins for $368.7 million last week, marking its first purchase since late-June.
The move comes as markets remain on edge over renewed U.S.-Iran tensions and continued uncertainty over higher interest rates. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's hawkish comments have raised expectations of a September rate hike, which could negatively impact Bitcoin prices. Recent bond market turmoil has also added to the pressure.
