Strategy Resumes Bitcoin Buying with $369.7 Million Acquisition
Strategy, a Nasdaq-listed bitcoin treasury company led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, resumed its accumulation of Bitcoin after a two-month pause. The company acquired 4,603 BTC for $369.7 million between August 24 and 30 at an average price of $80,318 each.
This purchase brings Strategy's total position to 845,050 BTC, acquired at an average cost of $75,412 per coin. The aggregate purchase price, inclusive of fees and expenses, was funded through the company's ATM offering program, which raised $602.8 million in net proceeds from sales of Class A common stock during the week.
The proceeds were split between buying Bitcoin, repurchasing STRC preferred shares, covering dividends on that preferred stock, and adding to cash reserves. This is Strategy's first purchase since late June, when it acquired roughly $1 billion of Bitcoin in a single week.
