Strategy Sees $4 Billion Profit on Bitcoin Holdings After Sharp Price Rally
Strategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, has seen its massive holdings swing from an unrealized loss of $9.5 billion to a staggering profit of approximately $4 billion in just one week.
This significant turnaround is attributed to the sharp rally in Bitcoin's price, which has climbed from the low $60,000s to above $80,000 in recent days. Strategy owns 840,447 BTC purchased at an average cost of about $75,385 per coin.
The firm's total cost basis across its holdings stands near $63.4 billion, financed through convertible debt, preferred stock, and equity offerings. Despite selling limited amounts of Bitcoin to support liquidity needs and build cash reserves, Strategy continues to hold the largest Bitcoin stack among any public company.
