Strategy Sells $104.7 Million in Bitcoin as Other Companies Buy In
Strategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, has sold 1,638 BTC for ~ $104.7 million to fund dividends and build its cash reserves. The company used the proceeds from the sale to buy preferred-stock dividends and buybacks of some of its STRC shares. Strategy still holds 842,138 BTC.
The sale marks the third time in 2026 that Strategy has sold Bitcoin, with the coins sold for about $63,957 each, a $10,000 drop from the average cost of $75,419. Strategy's dollar reserve now sits at $4 billion.
In contrast to Strategy, other companies are buying into the cryptocurrency market. Strive and American Bitcoin have increased their crypto treasuries, with Strive purchasing 20 BTC for about $63,191 each, totaling $1.3 million. Bitmine has also been actively buying Ether, increasing its treasury to 5,797,813 ETH after adding 10,399 tokens last week.
