Strategy Sells 1,690 BTC for $108.6M, Shifts Financial Management Strategy
Strategy, the company founded by Michael Saylor, has made significant changes to its financial management strategy. In a move that breaks with the company's past approach of accumulating and holding Bitcoin, Strategy sold 1,690 BTC for $108.6 million to reorganize part of its debt and strengthen its dollar reserve.
The sale, which took place from August 3 to August 9, 2026, generated net proceeds of $108.6 million at an average price of $64,262 per unit. The funds were immediately reinvested in the buyback of 1,152,020 perpetual variable rate Class A preferred shares identified under the symbol STRC.
This marks the second consecutive week of sales for the company and represents the fourth declared Bitcoin sale since the beginning of the year. With this move, Strategy's total annual sales reach 6,948 BTC. The company still retains a significant balance of 840,447 Bitcoins acquired for an aggregate amount of $63.36 billion.
