Strategy Sells $2.01B in MSTR Shares Amid Bitcoin's $80K Surge
Strategy, led by Michael Saylor's firm, made no Bitcoin purchases or sales last week after several previous sales. Instead, it sold 18,261,118 MSTR shares through its ATM program between August 17th and 23rd, generating $2.0065 billion in net proceeds.
The proceeds from the share sale were allocated as follows: about $136.4 million was used to repurchase Strategy's STRC preferred stock, while another $300 million was added to its existing USD reserve, bringing it to approximately $5.1 billion.
The remaining funds increased its newly established USD Cash account, which held $1.59 billion as of August 23rd.
Strategy remains the largest Bitcoin DAT, holding 840,447 BTC worth around $67.82 billion at the current price action. This represents an unrealized gross gain of roughly $4.47 billion for Strategy's holdings.
MSTR itself has benefited from the share sale, with its stock closing at $122.63 on August 24th, a gain of approximately 25.5% over the previous week.
