Strategy Sells $761 Million Worth of BTC and MSTR Shares
Strategy, a company that has adopted a Bitcoin acquisition model, announced it raised $761 million through the sale of its BTC holdings and MSTR shares. The sales took place between August 3rd and August 9th, with Strategy selling 1,690 BTC for approximately $108.6 million at an average price of $64,262 per coin.
The company also sold 6,585,682 MSTR shares, generating $653.1 million in additional proceeds. The sales reduced Strategy's total BTC holdings to 840,447 coins, acquired at an average price of $75,385 each for a cumulative cost of around $63.36 billion including fees.
The company used the proceeds from the BTC sales to repurchase STRC preferred stock and lift its USD reserve to $4.65 billion as of August 9th. The remaining funds were added to Strategy's general cash balance. After the transactions, Strategy has $785.2 million remaining under its preferred stock repurchase authorization.
