Strategy Shifts Bitcoin Treasury Strategy with $369.7M Buy
Strategy, one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin, has been shifting its treasury management strategy. The company sold approximately 6,916 BTC through the summer, using Bitcoin as a source of liquidity for preferred-stock dividends, cash reserves, and security repurchases.
The move marks a departure from Strategy's previous 'buy-and-hold' approach, which made Michael Saylor one of Bitcoin's most recognizable corporate advocates. The company used Bitcoin sales to rebuild its USD reserve, fund dividends, and repurchase securities.
However, rather than abandoning Bitcoin, Strategy turned around and bought 4,603 BTC for approximately $369.7 million between August 24 and 30. This purchase lifted total holdings to 845,050 BTC, acquired for about $63.73 billion.
