Strategy Shuns Common Stock for Preferred Capital in Bitcoin Quest
Strategy Treasury Company has announced plans to shift its equity capital raises in favor of preferred capital. According to CEO Phong Le, this decision is aimed at acquiring Bitcoin without diluting the stock price through new share issuances.
The company will transition from common stock sales to preferred stock offerings, which was a strategy that launched in July with the perpetual preferred stock called Stretch (STRC). This product targets investors seeking stable returns and offers an annual dividend exceeding 11%.
Le acknowledged that the preferred stock will require marketing efforts and time to gain traction with traders. He expects Stretch to become a major product for the company throughout 2026, as it has already reclaimed its par value of $100 at Wednesday's close for the first time since mid-January.
