Strategy Signals Potential New Bitcoin Purchase Amid Large Cash Reserve Build-Up
Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy Inc. (Nasdaq: MSTR), has signaled another Bitcoin purchase by the company. He published a chart showing Strategy's history of BTC acquisitions, which began in 2020. The chart features dozens of orange markers representing the 113 operations in which Strategy bought a total of 843.775 BTC.
The estimated value of these holdings is approximately $54.36 billion, with an average price paid per Bitcoin of around $75,653. However, the company's position also shows an unrealized loss of about $9.47 billion on its Bitcoin reserves.
Strategy has the authorization to sell up to $23.53 billion in additional common shares through existing programs. This amount represents the remaining issuance capacity and not funds already raised. The resources from these sales may be allocated to new BTC purchases, cash, or other corporate needs.
