Strategy Stock Price Plunges on Bitcoin Exposure Changes
Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR) stock price dropped by 6.38% on July 24, closing at $93 due to changes in how the company measures Bitcoin exposure to common shareholders.
The company now calculates its net Bitcoin per share by deducting its net debt and preferred liabilities from the value of its BTC holdings, resulting in a net BTC reserve of 554,569.
This change comes ahead of Strategy's earnings for April-June 2026, set to be released on July 30.
Cantor Fitzgerald has reiterated a $212 target for MSTR stock, suggesting that recent changes to increase cash reserves could drive gains for STRC and MSTR stocks.
However, the asset manager also warns of potential risks, including erosion of Strategy's market share as a crypto treasury company due to de-pegging from its par value of $100.
