Strategy Stock Soars Despite Record-Breaking Quarterly Loss
Strategy's stock price rose sharply on Thursday despite reporting an $8.22 billion net loss for the second quarter.
The loss was largely due to a decline in the value of its Bitcoin holdings, with Strategy recording an $8.32 billion unrealized loss during the quarter.
Bitcoin fell approximately 14% between the beginning of April and the end of June, declining from around $68,000 to roughly $58,600.
Despite this significant decline, investors seemed reassured by the company's liquidity position and long-term Bitcoin strategy, with the stock price closing at $97.74 after gaining 4.73% from the previous close.
