Strategy to Contribute to Trump Accounts for US Employees' Children
Strategy, a Bitcoin treasury firm listed on Nasdaq as MSTR, has announced it will contribute to Trump Accounts for the children of its U.S. employees. The company will deposit $250 annually into each account, regardless of when the child was born. For eligible children born on or after January 1, 2025, Strategy will also make a one-time contribution of $1,000 in the child's birth year, matching the seed deposit provided by the U.S. Treasury.
Phong Le, Strategy's president and CEO, said that Trump Accounts can help build a stronger financial future for America's children, encouraging 'financial education, long term thinking, and a culture of saving and investing from an early age.' This aligns with Strategy's values.
The Trump Accounts program was launched on July 4, 2026, as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act signed by President Trump in 2025. Each account is a tax-advantaged investment account for a child, with the government depositing one-time $1,000 seed contributions into accounts for over 500,000 children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028.
Families can contribute up to $5,000 per year, but funds are locked until age 18, when the account converts to a traditional individual retirement account. President Trump has expressed interest in Bitcoin playing a role in the new savings program, noting its potential for the future of the Trump Accounts initiative.
