Strategy to Resume Bitcoin Buying Amid Weaker Market Conditions
Strategy, an institutional Bitcoin holder, has announced plans to resume accumulating Bitcoin later this year. In an interview with FOX Business, CEO Phong Le stated that despite selling some of its holdings earlier this year, the company remains a net buyer and will continue to purchase more Bitcoin throughout the year.
According to Le, Strategy has purchased approximately 175,000 BTC since the beginning of the year while selling roughly 7,000 BTC. This makes the company a significant net buyer, with around 25 times more buying than selling.
Strategy has accumulated over 840,000 BTC and has faced scrutiny for departing from its long-standing 'never sell' approach to Bitcoin. The corporate Bitcoin treasury model has come under pressure due to weaker market conditions, making it challenging for companies to sustain the economics that fueled its rapid expansion.
