Strategy Unloads $109M in Bitcoin Holdings Amid Fading Momentum
Strategy, an entity that holds Bitcoin and STRC stock, has made significant moves over the past week. They sold 1,690 BTC, valued at approximately $109 million, reducing their total holdings to 840,447 BTC. The average acquisition price for these assets is now $75,385.
At the same time, Strategy repurchased around $109 million worth of STRC stock. This move aligns with their historical treasury management strategy and ongoing stock repurchase activity over the past year.
The price action on the 4-hour chart shows Bitcoin trading within its Bollinger Bands, with an upper resistance at $65,246.04 and lower support at $64,755.76. The EMA50 and EMA200 continue to act as support beneath a neutral RSI(14) of 51.56.
However, the MACD death cross at 167.04 signals fading momentum in Bitcoin's price movement, which could put pressure on price prediction models and increase the risk of a crypto market crash if volume fails to defend the 50-EMA.
