Strategy Unloads 1,638 BTC, Boosts USD Reserve to $4 Billion
Strategy, the company founded by Michael Saylor, has made significant moves in its Bitcoin and stock portfolios. Last week, it sold 1,638 BTC, generating approximately $104.73 million, and continued to sell Class A Common Stock (MSTR) shares. The company allocated $52.4 million of the sale proceeds toward preferred stock dividend payments and used another $52.3 million for STRC repurchases under its Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program.
The sales have boosted Strategy's USD reserve to $4 billion, with $250 million coming from the MSTR share sales. The company also funded STRC repurchases and added to its cash balance with the proceeds. Strategy noted that it has approximately $893.8 million remaining under its preferred stock repurchase program and $1 billion available under its MSTR common stock repurchase program.
The latest transactions come after Strategy reported an $8.33 billion operating loss for the second quarter of 2026, mainly due to an $8.32 billion unrealized loss on its Bitcoin holdings as the top crypto declined during the period. Despite this, Strategy has maintained that it achieved a 4.5% BTC Yield year to date and a BTC Gain of 29,997 BTC.
