Strategy Unloads Another Large Batch of Bitcoin Amid Lender Preference Criticism
Strategy, one of the world's largest corporate Bitcoin holders, has sold another significant portion of its holdings. The company disposed of 1,690 BTC for approximately $108.6 million, bringing its total Bitcoin sales in 2026 to 6,948 BTC.
This latest transaction follows earlier disposals of 32 BTC, 3,588 BTC, and 1,638 BTC. Strategy has used the proceeds from these sales to repurchase its STRC preferred stock and help fund dividends and meet other financial obligations tied to its shares.
Longtime Bitcoin critic Peter Schiff criticized Strategy's decision to sell part of its cryptocurrency holdings, arguing that lenders still prefer dollars over Bitcoin when securing financing. Schiff also urged investors to sell MSTR shares and Bitcoin.
