Strategy's $1.4B Bitcoin Windfall Marks Sharp Reversal
Strategy Inc., formerly known as MicroStrategy, has seen its massive Bitcoin stash generate over $1.4 billion in unrealized gains after the cryptocurrency surged past the company's average acquisition price of $75,385 per coin.
The recent rally that saw Bitcoin jump nearly 22% in just five trading sessions also lifted MSTR shares by approximately 10% to around $120, their highest level in two months.
Strategy's approach has been consistent: it buys more, holds it all, and treats Bitcoin as a core treasury reserve rather than a speculative position. The company has added to its holdings through various means, including equity offerings and operating cash flow, building a stash that dwarfs every other public company's Bitcoin exposure.
The $1.4 billion unrealized profit marks a sharp reversal from recent quarters when Strategy's holdings were in loss territory due to market fluctuations.
