Strategy's AI-Powered Funding Raises $15B for Bitcoin
Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, is one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin, with over $30 billion worth of BTC. To continue buying more, they turned to artificial intelligence (AI) for help.
In an interview on The Diary of a CEO podcast, Saylor explained that AI designed new preferred stock tools, STRK and STRC, which helped raise about $15 billion to support Strategy's Bitcoin strategy.
STRK is a Bitcoin-backed convertible preferred stock that combines traditional finance with its Bitcoin strategy. It raised $2.5 billion in an initial public offering (IPO) and another $8 billion through a shelf registration.
STRC, on the other hand, is a short-term preferred stock designed to stay close to its $100 value. Its dividend can change every month to help keep the price stable, allowing Strategy to raise another $4 billion.
The financing helped Strategy continue its aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy, making it the largest corporate holder of BTC with 842,138 units worth around $54.688 billion at a price of $64,940 per BTC.
