Strategy's Bitcoin Holdings Continue to Spark Speculation
Strategy Inc.'s Executive Chairman Michael Saylor posted a chart of the company's Bitcoin holdings on Sunday, July 26. The chart showed Strategy holding 843,775 BTC acquired through 113 purchases at an average price of $75,653 per bitcoin. This marks the company's largest Bitcoin position to date.
The chart estimated an unrealized decline of about $9.47 billion in Strategy's holdings, valued at approximately $54.36 billion as of Sunday. Saylor frequently posts versions of this chart before Strategy releases treasury updates, leading investors to speculate on whether another purchase is imminent.
However, the company's recent decision to sell 2,732,318 MSTR shares for $263.5 million in net proceeds suggests that it may not automatically deploy newly raised capital into BTC. Instead, Strategy has strengthened its cash position, which now stands at $3.225 billion, and still has authorization to sell up to $23.53 billion of additional common stock under existing at-the-market offerings.
