Strategy's Bitcoin Holdings Hint at Another Purchase
Strategy's co-founder and chairman Michael Saylor hinted at another Bitcoin purchase on X, sparking market attention. The company has not announced a new Bitcoin buy in five straight weeks, which is unusual since it usually posts its holdings chart followed by a weekly purchase disclosure.
In the past, Strategy posted a similar chart with the phrase 'We're gonna need another color,' but no additional purchases were made after that. The company's latest filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission revealed it holds 843,775 Bitcoin valued at around $53.3 billion, which is roughly $10.4 billion below its acquisition cost of $63.69 billion.
Strategy last bought Bitcoin on June 22 for $34.9 million, acquiring 520 tokens. It then sold a portion of its holdings between June 29 and July 5 to fund preferred stock dividends and bolster its dollar reserves.
