Strategy's Bitcoin Reserves Spark Speculation with Cryptic Post
Strategy, a company founded and chaired by Michael Saylor, has sparked speculation about its Bitcoin reserves. In a recent post, Saylor reposted data showing Strategy's $BTC holdings, but with an unexpected twist.
In the chart, purchases were shown in orange, but Saylor wrote 'We need a different color.' Some market participants interpreted this as a possible move to strengthen cash reserves rather than buying more Bitcoin.
Strategy currently holds 843,775 $BTC, valued at approximately $54.63 billion, with an estimated total cost of $63.83 billion. The company's average cost per Bitcoin is $75,653, resulting in an unrealized loss of around $9.20 billion (14.41%) based on current prices.
The recent data shows that Strategy sold $BTC in July after making purchases in June. On July 6th, the company sold 2,225 $BTC at an average price of $60,773 per Bitcoin, generating approximately $135.22 million. The following day, Strategy sold another 1,363 Bitcoin at an average price of $59,256, resulting in around $80.77 million in sales.
