Strategy's Cringe-Filled Q2 Earnings Call Sparks Bitcoin Backlash
Strategy, led by CEO Michael Saylor, has been selling Bitcoin (BTC) at an alarming rate, shedding 5,258 BTC (~$320 million) so far this year. This trend has sparked criticism from the Bitcoin community, who are increasingly frustrated with Strategy's decision to sell off its BTC holdings.
In a bizarre attempt to address these concerns, Saylor posted a cringeworthy Q2 earnings call video featuring AI-generated content, including a rap delivered in a semi-British accent. The video features Strategy shareholders dancing along to the rap and has been met with widespread criticism from the Bitcoin community.
Saylor's lyrics in the video suggest that he knows the content is embarrassing and wants it that way. He has shared similar remixes and raps in the past, each of which attracted similar criticism. The company currently holds 842,138 BTC, worth almost $59 billion.
