Strategy's Massive Bitcoin Holdings Put Saylor's Theory to the Test
Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), has outlined a new perspective on cryptocurrency accumulation. According to him, Bitcoin's breakthrough lies in its ability to convert economic energy into digital form and securely bind it to entities such as individuals, families, companies, machines, or states.
In practical terms, this means that Bitcoin can be used as collateral for issuing tokenized obligations with fixed yields. Strategy has already implemented this concept, channeling Bitcoin's digital energy into a collateral base worth $13.37 billion in its Digital Credit sector.
The company holds 840,447 BTC on its balance sheet, accounting for exactly 4% of Bitcoin's total supply and valued at $64.9 billion. However, the viability of Saylor's theory is being tested under stress as Strategy attempts to permanently 'lock economic energy' into digital code.
