Strategy's STRC Buying Spree Continues as $785 Million Remain
Strategy has been actively buying back shares of its preferred stock STRC as part of its $1 billion Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program.
Data from STRC.live shows that STRC traded at around $95 on Monday, up from a June low of about $74. Over the past three weeks, Strategy has acquired roughly 2.3 million STRC shares worth approximately $214.8 million, with its latest purchase being the largest at $108.6 million for 1.1 million shares during the week ended Aug. 9.
Strategy still has $785.2 million available under the repurchase program to close the final $5 gap to reach STRC's target of $100. The company has increasingly turned to its Bitcoin treasury to finance the STRC purchases, selling 3,328 BTC for about $213.3 million over the past two weeks while spending $189.8 million on STRC during the same period.
The transactions show Bitcoin taking on a broader role under Strategy's Digital Credit Capital Framework, which allows the company to monetize portions of its holdings to support preferred securities and other obligations across its capital structure.
