STRC Gains Institutional Traction as Retail Investors Step Back
Michael Saylor has shifted his focus from promoting Bitcoin to highlighting the growth of institutional adoption in STRC, according to recent data. In contrast to speculative trading or social media hype, this trend is driven by Wall Street's increasing involvement with traditional financial products.
The three major US preferred stock ETFs, BlackRock's iShares Preferred and Income Securities ETF (PPF), Virtus Infracap US Preferred Stock ETF (PFFA), and VanEck Preferred Securities ex Financials ETF (PFXF), now collectively hold approximately $756 million worth of STRC.
This marks a significant growth in institutional participation through conventional investment vehicles rather than direct crypto exposure. The ownership trend also suggests that retail investors are stepping back as institutions expand their involvement in STRC.
According to Phong Le, MicroStrategy CEO, retail ownership declined from 78% in March to 71% by July, while institutional participation increased by 105%, reaching an average of $3.5 million per position.
