STRC Preferred Shares Hold at 12% Dividend Amid Continued Price Struggle
Strategy's preferred STRC shares have closed July below their $100 par value but investors can expect to receive a 12% dividend in August. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor delivered this news via Twitter, reiterating that STRC is a way to 'stretch your income.' This marks the second month of semi-monthly dividend payments for shareholders, who approved this change in June.
STRC shares saw a 5.42% price increase in July, closing at $89.46 on Friday. However, the volume of shares traded was only about two-thirds of their daily average. CEO Phong Le reiterated that management aims to see STRC trade at $99-$100 over time but did not specify when this might happen.
Saylor also hinted at a potential announcement regarding Strategy's Bitcoin treasury holdings on Sunday via X, posting a chart of the company's BTC buys. As part of its BTC monetization program, Strategy has built a $3.75 billion cash reserve to support preferred stock payouts.
