Streamex Unveils Ambitious Tokenization Platform Strategy Beyond Gold
Streamex Corp. (NASDAQ: STEX), a technology and infrastructure company focused on tokenizing commodity real-world assets, has outlined its broader strategy to develop a tokenized commodity infrastructure beyond gold. In an investor video released Wednesday, Vice President of Product and Design Kori Handy emphasized that while the company's gold-backed digital asset, GLDY, serves as the initial asset, the underlying infrastructure for custody, compliance, liquidity, banking, and distribution is designed to support future tokenized commodities including silver, oil, gas, and copper.
The company highlighted partnerships with several financial and crypto firms, including Siebert Financial, Inspira Financial, Equity Trust, tZERO, Wintermute, Coinbase Prime, Anchorage Digital, and BitGo, as key components of its expanding ecosystem. These collaborations are intended to strengthen distribution and trading capabilities for tokenized assets.
Streamex's roadmap includes launching GLDC, a permissionless stablecoin backed by GLDY, which would enable investors to borrow against their tokenized assets without selling them, providing greater liquidity. The company also plans to expand direct distribution through financial institutions, making tokenized commodities more accessible to a broader investor base.
