Stripe Taps Crypto Expert to Lead Stablecoin Card Development
Stripe, a payments and software company, has appointed Drew Turchin as its new cryptocurrency executive. Turchin will lead the development of stablecoin cards at Stripe, which have seen significant growth in recent years.
Turchin previously worked at Native Markets, where he was head of business development and partnerships. He also held a similar position at Uniswap Labs. In May, Coinbase acquired certain assets of USDH, a stablecoin issued by Native Markets, in favor of USDC.
Stripe has been actively expanding its cryptocurrency offerings, including the acquisition of Bridge for $1.1 billion two years ago. The company has also partnered with Ramp to use Bridge's technology for stablecoin-based bill payments and Privy's wallet infrastructure for new stablecoin deposit accounts.
