Strive Expands BTC Holdings Amid Saylor's Pause
Michael Saylor's company has made only one Bitcoin purchase in nearly three months. In contrast, Matt Cole's Strive bought an additional 469 BTC for $36.6 million this week at an average cost of $77,954 per coin.
This move brings Strive's total holdings to exactly 25,000 coins. The entire amount came from SATA, which now has over $1 billion in notional outstanding and has increased its amplification ratio to 53.5%.
Meanwhile, Saylor's company still holds a massive position of 845,050 BTC, acquired at an average cost of $75,412 per coin. The firm deployed just over $63.7 billion across six years to build this position, which is now roughly $2 billion above its cost basis.
The last purchase by Saylor's company came on September 1, when it spent $370 million on 4,603 BTC as a buyback following sales at lower prices. Since then, the company has not made any further purchases and instead redirected capital to defending its preferred stock.
Claude AI predicts that Bitcoin will spend the rest of 2026 range-bound between roughly $65,000 and $95,000, with the upper half of that range more likely into Q1 2027. The reasoning is structural, as Bitcoin is currently 38% off its October 2025 high.
