Strong NFP Data Sparks Fed Fears, Cryptocurrency Confidence Wanes
Despite initial signs of recovery in cryptocurrency demand at the start of September, momentum began to wane as the week progressed following the release of the U.S. Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP) report.
The report showed a significant increase in employment growth during August, with over 160,000 new jobs created - more than double the expected number of 55,000.
This strong labor market data gave policymakers greater room to maintain a restrictive stance on interest rates, which has led to a shift in market expectations and a decrease in cryptocurrency confidence.
The correlation between Bitcoin's performance and the U.S. dollar is particularly relevant here, with a recent surge in dollar strength coinciding with a decline in BTC prices.
