Sui Basecamp 2026 Showcases Agentic Economy with Record-Breaking TPS Attempt
The Sui Basecamp 2026 conference took place at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore from October 7-8, alongside TOKEN2049. This year's event focused on the agentic economy, which involves instant settlement, autonomous payments, private transactions, and stable digital dollars. Key speakers included Raoul Pal, Adeniyi Abiodun, Kostas Chalkias, and Richard Socher, among others.
The conference aimed to showcase the potential of the agentic economy, where machines and software can transact continuously at machine speed. To demonstrate this, a live attempt was made to break Sui's record of 6,086,766 transactions per second (TPS). Kostas Chalkias led the attempt, which involved AI agents and users transacting across games, payments, and chat using programmable tunnels.
The event also featured product reveals, technical deep dives, hands-on demos, and direct conversations with industry leaders. Attendees had access to the AI Builder Lab and Trading Arena, where they could learn about building AI-powered applications and agents, or watch live trading sessions.
