Hashi testnet is now live on Sui's high-performance network, marking an important milestone in Bitcoin's evolution. This infrastructure aims to enable developers, custodians, financial institutions, and ecosystem partners to build, integrate, and stress-test Bitcoin-backed financial applications ahead of mainnet.

The launch introduces the Guardian Layer, a new security mechanism designed to help institutions securely manage Bitcoin collateral while maintaining transparency and programmability. The Guardian Layer gives an additional layer of protection against malicious activity through configurable safeguards that can slow or prevent potentially malicious activity before collateral leaves the system.

Hashi's testnet is the beginning of the ecosystem buildout that will ultimately power institutional Bitcoin lending, borrowing, and credit origination on Sui. With over 25 partners already committed to building and deploying capital on Hashi, this infrastructure has the potential to unlock new financial products and markets for institutions.
